My fish is dying
Poor Achamian. He’s dying. At least I think so… it was either his hard time getting to the top of the tank or the swimming sideways that was the tip off. He was like this when I got back from Buffalo, I fed him, and he seemed okay… but now I’m thinking it was just the heat. My a/c is working overtime, and if you’re not infront of it, my apartment is roughly 30 degrees. (If you are infront of it, depending on how close, it ranges from about 24 – 26) So he got cooled down when I came back, and now it’s just too hot for him. Last I checked, his thermometer told me it was 32, and last time I checked, we’re supposed to aim for 25. Whoops. I put him infront of the air for a bit, he got a little better, but I turn the a/c towards my bedroom at night, and if he thinks he’s sleeping with me, he’s got another thing coming.
On a sidenote, I can’t find my extended warantee receipt for my iPod. Guess it’s too hot for it too because the glue that holds down the white bit on top has come unstuck… so putting it on hold requires pushing down on the top while you slide, and getting it off hold, you’d think same method, and it is, just with a lot of cursing. (It really likes being on hold i guess.) Does anyone know if I can just bring it into Best Buy and they’ll have me on their system so I won’t need it?
Got my toe looked at this week by doctor. It doesn’t hurt as much as it used to, but figured I might as well go in. Aparently the nail is ingrown (how gross is that?! gross enough to share it with you, ha!) so I’m supposed to soak it, then shove cotton under the nail to lift it up. Problem is, before I saw him I cut my nails… and the cotton game just isn’t working. Oh well, could be worse… like if the cotton game doesn’t work. (Aparently that involves two giant needles – he showed them to me! – then cutting off that part of my nail and toe… so not too happy.)
Michelle’s been going to curves for a month and a half now… I think she said she lost 7 pounds or so? (I haven’t seen her since Feb. so I didn’t notice!) Now don’t get me wrong, it’s not that I’m not happy for her, it’s that I was the one in university trying to get us both active, so if one of us is going to reach a size 10 first, it damn well better be me! (The couple less sizes I have on her does give me a bit of an advantage… but I’d still like to win! wait, Kristel, this isn’t a competition…) Anyways, been looking for a couple months now for an elliptical (no gyms near me, and no car, soo… either I walk two hours to the nearest gym and walk back… and possibly skip the gym, or I bring the equipment home) and Sears had an awesome price. $350 regular $899… I think I got off well, eh? This having a job thing is nicer than I thought. Too bad that cut into my car/condo/piano fund. It’s coming Wed. which reminds me that I should probably notify my super so someone’s there between noon and 5 to put the elevator on service. (One box, but I’m thinking it’s heavy. At least that’s why I paid $50 for delivery!)
… don’t have much else to say. Oh wait! I did buy some fun yarn for a shawl I want to make. When it’s done, I will show you. It’s very lovely.
So other random notes:
- Tomorrow’s laundry day! Yay. no wait, I need to reload my card, and wash two loads of sheets (company…)
- Also need to vacuum tomorrow. Been avoiding it since last Friday, and it really needs to be done, but it’s just soooo hot!
- Need to get practicing that music for the choir. Apparently they want to reopen the church from vacation with a bang or something. Too bad it’s first week of August, and we’ll be able to count the people in service with only one person’s hands. (Regular season you need about 3 people’s. Our church is literally dying out. That’s the problem with too many old people I guess! I wouldn’t go though if I didn’t get a ride, so maybe we just need to offer a carpool!
They didn’t like that, and any other suggestion, I have made to the council on how to get young people. The only reason they ask me is because I’m the only one under 35 who isn’t also under the age of 12 and there with their parents. So really, why not take my word into consideration?) wait, these comments were supposed to be short… back to business - In my efforts to win the competition with michelle (which if you asked her doesn’t exist… must be the curling drive in me lol) I bought an ab roller when I went to buy a pad for the elliptical at walmart. (ok, I also bought cotton balls, for my toe, perler beads to entertain kids, a pot for one of my plants, and two plant dishy things to keep the water from getting everywhere) stay on topic kristel… so i bought one, and have been using it for a couple days now. It was ridiculously easy compared to sit ups so I got a little overzealous with it, and now I’m sore, but too stubborn to actually stop. (Like I said, competition… I want to WIN. Happy for Michelle, but I really want to get down first) No pain no gain, right? I wonder if when Michelle figures out that I’m doing exercise whether she’ll think it’s a competition too? What if she gets mad? I’m not mad now… Hm… well, it would be one thing we have in common (since we seemed to have lost everything we had in commmon since she stayed in school & I went to the real world. She and Marisa had most of the conversations on the weekend, and I really like to talk! Maybe PMS or something… though that does sound like a guy’s excuse.)
- My vista notebook doesn’t seem to like Firefox. It often crashes, randomly comes up with not having any idea of my bookmarks, it’ll have my homepage listed in the options, but it won’t bring it up, and more often than not, I click the red X at the top… and nothing happens. Weird because their site told me it was vista compatable…
- Great Big Sea is coming to Kitchener. Assuming there’s still seats left, anyone interested in joining me?
- Nearing bedtime… so going to go. Hope your houses are cooler than mine!
You should change from Vista to Ubuntu… no firefox problems here!
Maybe you should make some posters that offer a “Free Hat” (McCullough) to everyone who comes? People love free hats.
Don’t worry… my apartment is 30 degrees right now… and its 12 o’clock…
Yeah, but our software runs on Windows (or at least we haven’t found a decent enough client on linux) so no switching…
You think the “free hat” game would work?… maybe.
Mine too… that’s why I went to Mum & Dad’s for central air! boo yah.
hey – my brother had that toe surgery, with the two needles about a year ago! it actually wasn’t so bad, so if it comes to that, don’t worry too much :p
not what i heard…
and i don’t think it’s going to get to that point. It’s actually looking a lot better. Still gross, but better.
