Oh Dear

That’s pretty much how my week has been going.

My computer crapped out Sat. Night… we still don’t know what happened… it would be up for 3 minutes and then… well, like I said, we don’t know. Nothing weird shows up in the task manager, we disabled all windows components that aren’t needed to actually run the box, uninstalled just about every program and all to no avail. So we had to reload the damn thing, and now I get to spend tomorrow reinstalling everything and then back to work. (Why oh why did I get involved in The Sims? Do you have any idea how long it takes to install all those expansion packs, plus all the downloads, hacks, & other mods I’ve put into it?! Fastest time so far is 3h 15m. For Sims 2 only! I got Sims 1 to work on Vista… it’s not pretty, and it requires some hacking, but it can be done…) Anyways…

My driver’s license *still* hasn’t come yet. I did my full G exit license thingy June 18th, I passed, all was happy, they told me two weeks. Four weeks after that or so, I called with the whole “where is my license?!” game. They tell me that Ontario’s switching to new licenses that are magical enough to get you across the border without a passport when it switches… and the magic infusion takes a couple weeks longer. So it should arrive soon. If it doesn’t well, there’s nothing they can do until two weeks before my temp expires… on Aug. 27th. I’m calling tomorrow. Hopefully they can tell me when it left the government building (or *if*) so we can find out where it’s at… because someone could be running around with my id. The first thought that came to the lady’s mind btw that I talked to on the phone when I mentioned the idea of identity theft is that “It’s okay. The most they can do is get into bars with your license.” I’m sitting there thinking “WTF?! That’s like saying the only thing I can do with it is drink.” She works at the Ministry of Transportation, and at the very least, it doesn’t cross her mind that someone could be getting points on my license? Beyond that, has she never been to a bank? All you need is a peice of ID and you can open an account, take out a loan, mortgage, etc. They could be trying for a passport, but as I already have one, I doubt they could play that game. They could use it for guns, hunting licenses, not to mention that fishing license… okay, so I went a little overboard with the fishing license, but you get my point.

They’re filming a movie in Guelph called Cell 213. I think its the same guy who directed Boogeyman that’s doing it. Well, they’re filming parts of it in the main branch of the public library… a block away from here. Well, if you haven’t been to my apartment, let me enlighten you. Behind me is a three lane road, one way, with parking in one lane, and a parking lot on the otherside of the lane. Well last night, they drove in with their, oh, 7 trucks or so, onto the street. Granted, I’m not completely positive they’re with the movie crew, but they’d have to have permission from the city regardless. Anyways, so they went down the street, WRONG direction, and parked in the parking lane. Then proceeded to block off the entrance to the lot from that street. (there is another entrance… but one of the trucks is parked so close to it, I’ve seen a lot of cars miss it, and have to come back.) They were as quiet as you can be coordinating the parking of 7 large trucks… which isn’t actually that quiet. So this morning, I leave for my parents, and had to go down the street… where there’s about 5 cars who are seemingly unaware that it’s a one way street, and blocking the entrance. So this woman waves me by, and I waved her, because she’s blocking the damn road… anyways, so she goes, along with the other 4 clueless people, and I get on the street. I manage to get by the moving truck, and around the other one without mishap, and then down the street… with all sorts of people honking at me for being in the wrong lane. I pointed to the sign… and the guy turned red, and appologized… still a piss off. The point is, this wouldn’t have happend if they parked the trucks going the right direction.

…I think I just needed to vent tonight. Dad took all day to determine my computer needed reloading (of course, he only worked on it 20 minutes, but the point is he got there… eventually) and it just sucks that I always come last on his list. He can’t even use the excuse that he works this hard to support the family anymore since I’ve moved out, and Jeff buys his own everything anyways. I guess that’s the main reason I don’t want to work for him forever – I don’t want to shove the ones I should be spending the most time with to the side and taking them for granted. I’m not sure what I want to do, but I know what I don’t. I wonder if I could be a good interior designer? Or a realestate agent? Code monkey? Super evil genius ruler of the entire world muahahahaha!?

I think i’m going to head to bed. (Hey that rhymes! :D ) Been up all day, and I have a lot of reloading to do tomorrow… not to mention groceries, that trip to Home Depot, & cleaning up my apartment from the busy week I had previous.
