While this title could apply to most of my posts, I don’t really have much to say, so to add every topic into the line, would require some planning, or at least going back afterwards, and it would just be the tags… could this run on sentance get any longer? apparently.
Making a mini quilt. Not sure how it will turn out, especially since I’m short some fabric, but I’m going to do it anyways, and hope to cut out some peices from other fabrics to make up for it. We’ll see.
Made a little mini-scrapbook. They seem to be the rage, so I went ahead and tried it. It’s five whole (double) pages, with recipes. Now all I have to do is actually cook & take photos of said recipes and put them in. I’m half looking forward to the German cheesecake. On one hand, my grandma made the best German cheese cake, and I just want to try, even if it isn’t as good. On the other hand… it takes a ridiculous amount of hours to do and I’d need lots of people to finish it off, so I’d have to do it a weekend people were coming down, and then give as much as I can to Joanna.
Looked into the Arboretum. The grounds are open dawn to dusk, and I’m pretty sure the parking is just off of College near Victoria, so we should be set if you’re interested in going. The Centre is closed, but we can still hike through the still mostly bare trees. Could be fun? Also looked into the brewery. The next tour is on May 16th, and is $5… but comes with beer sampling, so could be good… as long as you’re into beer.
Was going to look into what’s going on this weekend… and now next if you’ve read the email from Sean, but the site is under maintenance… again, or still. pick one.
Unhooked my Playstation today. The directional buttons are officially stuck on both controllers, and I’m pretty skeptical that taking apart the controller will actually help. Still going to try, though. I put the old xbox in its place… I missed the old Prince of Persia games, though it is very annoying trying to relearn the controls… in fact, I think I’ve redone the first crow master fight like 7 times, not because he kills me, but because I usually jump too early from my wall run, or for some reason don’t jump the way I think I’m pointing off of the column. Anyways, back to the PSX. I have to plug it in on the front ports on my tv anyways, so plugging it in again isn’t so bad, and since the xbox is on an RF adapter, it’s much more annoying to plug in. (do you have any idea how much that tv weighs to have to move it out?!) If I can’t fix the controllers, thinking of just throwing it out. It’s not like I’m going to go on ebay just to buy a couple new controllers, and I don’t want to go to the trouble of selling it there either… or shipping. I really suck at getting things out in the mail on time… or at all for that matter.
Added a new poll. It’s pretty much useless. And I already forget what number I was thinking of when I wrote it…
Working on a new contest. Not sure what I’m going to do, but the prize should be less lame than the one Sean’s getting when he gets here. (okay, it’s not that bad.) Any ideas? I don’t know whether to make another sock monkey, or something else…? Or better yet, have you make something, like a catapult, or some kind of car (battery, hot air powered, etc.) and we’ll see who can shoot the farthest/drive the fastest? Hmm… I’ll think on it. Open to other suggestions. Mum suggested a programming contest, but that sounds very school/work related, and the idea of me having to judge them kinda freaks me out… unless all we have to do is run the program to see who did the best job, and I don’t have to read any code!
Was thinking of making steak tacos with chimmichurri sauce for when you come. Found a recipe in one of my new cook books I got for christmas, and it looks pretty good. Never cooked steak successfully on my grill before, but surely one of you have cooked a good steak so we should be fine. (And if not, then I can always get the precooked steak strips. Not as good as real (fresh?) steaks, but it’d work. I could always just do the standard ground beef tacos too…. Was thinking of making eggs benedict too, but mum says I need ramicans to it properly, and not everyone likes hollandaise sauce. Do the tacos sound good at least?
Not much else to say. Tomorrow’s busy. Work deadline, plus groceries, and laundry if Zoe and Gavin are coming up without Sean.
Sigh… why does this keep happening?
ummm, you’re going to have to be more specific for me to answer that… or at least try to?
Kris! you’re ALWAYS thinking of 42, how could you forget?
I should probably have written this all in one comment….
If Sean and I don’t want samples, can we go for free? I don’t know about him, but I might be interested in the tour, but not the tasting!
I can’t get the hang of any 3d game that involved jumping. Especially if I don’t have feet! How should I know how close to the edge I am?
Those steak tacos sound amazing…
I have made eggs benedict before — it seems to come out perfect for me about 1/2 the time, but the rest of the time is pretty edible… you don’t need ramekins, check this out: http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2007/10/eggs_benedict/
The hardest part is having everything hot at the same time!
and….who DOESN’T like hollandaise sauce? SO delicious.
Good luck with your deadlines
not always 42. There was roughly 1 week until you came (original plan) I had 6 eggs left, 14 DVD’s I’d watched this past week while working, 23 is a lovely prime number, 42 is often in my thoughts, it’s true, and I’m not sure where 57 came from, so it’s probably not that.
I don’t think you can go for free, but you could turn down the samples. We don’t have to go though. Was just looking into ideas.
I’m getting a little better, still do stupid things though.
I know eh? we have to try it!
Was looking at her egg poacher, and I have one! I just didn’t know what it was for when Grandma gave it to me. Mine’s supposed to hold 6 eggs though, but I lost 2, but it’s all good.
A valid point…
Thanks. Lot of work to do tomorrow, and no napping!
that number rant was a terrifying glimpse into your mind. terrifying.
hey you — how much chocolate is involved in your grandma’s cheesecake?
absolutely none.
