Oh Skyline

Skyline has the “opportunity” to lease the lot next to us. They’re making it into parking. They’re giving us first dibs. Of course the spots would come at a premium — we’re offered $100 a month!!! Which is ridiculous. Considering you can get a permit for the Baker St. Lot for $70/month, and then just walk in the back door every day instead. I hope they don’t reel in all the seniors in the building with this. (I’d also like to point out that if you were willing to walk 10 minutes home every day, you could get a spot for $35/month in another lot.) Either way, I’m not doing this. With my rent right now, the extra $100 would make me close to $1000 a month going to skyline, and for that, I could pay the mortgage on a condo, and the majority of any condo fees, and parking would probably be included in that. I really should move… but I do like this apartment. I took a photo of the sign for you to see.

Sign in the Elevator

On a different note, one not posted in the elevator, I think my interview went pretty well. I have to get my PRC done, and they’d like for me to get my cpr/first aid training done, but the latter isn’t necessary, just highly suggested. We’ll see how that goes. They both liked to talk though, so I didn’t get much to say. But I don’t think it’s the kind of interview you could fail, unless you obviously had issues with children.

Nearly packed for tomorrow. At least all that’s left is the things I’ll need tonight/tomorrow. The trick will be seeing how much of my housework I get done before it’s time to leave for the train/bank.

I think that’s it… oh dear, it’s 10 to 10, and i should definately have some dinner.

Addition:!!!Reading the killer bunnies new rules… oh man, this is going to be one heck of a game. There’s one expansion I’m now missing inbetween the pink and all the previous ones, namely the stainless steel pack, but I’m hoping we can play without it; and if we find anything that seems to apply to it, I figure we’ll do a “draw a new card” thing. Oh, and found a Teaching Killer Bunnies page on their website… probably would’ve made your first times a little easier: http://www.killerbunnies.com/quest/howto.html Thinking I’ll have to take all the decks from their boxes to get to pack them, but we’d shuffle them together anyways, right? (yes, I’d bring the new rules along as well) BTW, whoever voted that they were excited, I’m glad. :) Means I won’t be the only one, and won’t feel like I’m forcing you all *too* much. ;)

  • That seems really steep. I only pay 35/month in Brampton (or I would if I hadn’t gotten it for free the first year), and in North York I was paying 50/month for a garage… Guelph prices are crazy.

  • considering our parking outside used to be free (and first come first serve) steep doesn’t even cover it.

i wonder what it costs to park in the garage downstairs… i know the list is months long, but still… i guess it’d have to be more than $100
