There’s a really big beetle in my apartment

and I can’t find it, and it’s huge, and gross, and oh god I hope it isnt crawling on me!!! I noticed it on my lampshade, but it being rather soft, and the bug being soooo big (like 3″, so big!) so I swatted it off. It flew to my curtains. Not wanting bug guts in my new curtains, I tried to get him off. I did… and now I can’t find him. And it’s freaking me out. You don’t just let a huge beetle roam your apartment while you sleep. So now I’m playing, Kristel, Beetle Hunter… and losing apparently. I wish I wasn’t so freaked by bugs. Especially since I’m pretty sure there’s no poisonous beetles in Canada, though I’m pretty sure it’ll go all smelly when I do squish it… and god it’s big, so cleanup won’t be fun!

So freaked, can you tell?

Going to keep looking, was just hoping my texting could coax it out.

(You know what the worst thing about knowing there’s a bug in your apartment? Your skin gets all super sensitive, and everything little thing makes you think it’s on you, even though you’ve checked like 3000 times just to make sure nothing’s there.)

Update: Well, it’s well past 1, and I’ve been hunting for 2 hours… and I can’t find it. So either it’s gone, or just really good at hide and seek. i even went so far as to change my bedding just to make sure it wasn’t in there. I have no idea where it is now, I just hope I won’t wake up with it anywhere near me, or worse, have one of those I-was-sleeping-with-my-mouth-open-and-swallowed-it incidences. (oh man.) I’m hoping it’s between the glass & screen when I closed one of the windows, and not on my curtains hiding somewhere I missed, and I’ll wake up with it still there. The only bad news, outside of the bug potentially still being in here, is in the process I might’ve mixed up my fabric stacks for my quilt, so i’ll have to lay them out all over again just to make sure everything’s right.
