Okay, so it’s not new news. I’ve discussed with my allergist, and he feels that as long as it doesn’t shed (or at least not a lot) and doesn’t bark a lot (apparently salavia can carry allergens) then I’m good to go. My mom, however, is a different story. She’s *very* opposed to the idea. She wouldn’t even finish the conversation with me about my having one… or the sentence for that matter. But I want one! Was on Kijiji looking for ones, and found some very cute ones… but haven’t made the call. Going to talk with Dad about it because I’d definately need a sitter for the days we go to our customer sites and get back 12 hours later, and he knows a bit more about the budgeting costs. I don’t think that overall it’d be a bad idea. As long as I kennel train it (as in, the kennel is it’s bed) and I make sure it’s big enough for a water/food dish along with the actually bed part, then it should be able to sleep there overnight, and since I work from home during the day, I’ll notice it doing anything mischeivous. Budget wise, other than the inital costs, I don’t think it’ll be that bad. Food was pretty cheap at walmart, and I have a bit of leeway if it needs more than the standard vet bills…

Some of the ones I’ve been looking at though are hours away. Seriously, I don’t want to drive 3 hours to pick up a puppy. Even if we made a road trip out of it and partied in PTBO the night before. (the puppies an hour outside of PTBO are ridiculously cute. They didn’t post a price though, which makes me a little wary. Not the point, they’re still an extra hour away. We’d be driving for 6 hours there and back. Do you think I could convince them to meet us halfway?)

Oh, and why is it that only male dogs seem to be available? I wanted a girl dog, but that’s only because I grew up with a girl dog and don’t want to have to rewire myself to use the male pronouns when talking about a dog.

So obviously, I’m already talking like I’ve made up my mind. Let’s just point out that I’ve had my mind made up since I moved out of my parent’s house and still don’t have one. *sigh* I’ll find one eventually!

On another note… um, wait, there isn’t one. Unless you want the knitting updates, in that case I have made several now noticable mistakes on michelle’s scarf. Am I going to fix it? no. Am I going to frog it? no. Is it still good? absolutely.
