A Quick Update
So it’s been a few weeks… and I’m still running my butt off! I had a break around my birthday, but that was only because I was sick, so I guess that doesn’t really count.
Pepper’s bigger… a whole 10 lbs, but it looks like she’s gained more than a pound in a month. Still a small dog, but we expected that. She’s not that much better behaved, but she usually stops biting on the first “No”. The vet says she’ll keep getting better if I don’t let her nip at me even when we’re playing. Last immunization for a while is next week, which makes me glad… it costs an amazing amount of money to get your dog through all of her shots… in fact, I think I’ve spent more money on vet bills than I have on Pepper and all of her stuff.
On the scouting side, I’ve completed my training and have been invested so now I’m officially a cub leader. (Which means I get to wear the necker, woggle, epaulettes, and of course, badges. Hooray) We still have only 3 cubs, but with October’s joint meetings, and the couple joint meetings in November (including next week) we haven’t had a regular meeting in over a month, so we haven’t had a chance to have a bring-a-friend night. We plan to have one before Christmas, after Christmas (maybe a bring-a-friend olympics?) but before March. So we might have half a dozen kids by the end of the year. And while we might lose one next year to scouts, we’ll be bringing one in, and maybe by then our presence will be out enough that we might have a larger enrollment next year.
I’d tell you about work, but you don’t want to hear it.
Trying to get my knitting done, or at least those due end of November… it’s not going so well. Pepper insists on helping, so a project that would take me a few hours now takes me over a week because she gets a hold of it, rips it apart, totally destroys the yarn and then I have to go out and buy some more yarn and start over… Did I mention Pepper is in teething/i-must-destroy-EVERYTHING mode? Oh and she’s also figured out that she can jump barriers… so if you come over, your stuff will all have to go behind a closed door (unless you’re willing to donate to the destroyer’s pile)
Jeff’s birthday’s today. I got him so game for the PS3 that he wanted. I’d tell you what it is, but I’ve already wrapped it and don’t remember. I know it’s multi-player, so it’s probably another shoot everything that moves and is not on your team game. It game with a free theme download thing because they ordered so much pre-order reward stuff and then didn’t have enough people take them up on it, so were giving away the rest of the overstock for free. It was $5 originally, so I’m thinking free is still good. (Is free ever bad? I guess if it’s in horrible condition and you spend a lot of money to fix it up/haul it away, then it’d be bad.)
My water’s going to be off in several minutes until dinner, so I better go brush my teeth and whatever since it won’t be back on by the time I have to go for Jeff’s b-day dinner.
How long did it take her to figure out she could jump them?
Two months, give or take a week.
