Damn You Evil Christmas Tree!
When I first set it up, she barked at it for 3 hours straight. It took me almost two weeks to get her to not bark at it for an hour when I first turned it on… Now? Well, she doesn’t bark at it when you turn it on, sometimes she barks at it in passing, and she’ll really bark if you’re putting ornaments on. I’m considering it her preparation for Santa… maybe I should leave some bandaids out with the cookies.
In other Pepper related news, she’s into destoyer mode. All tissues must die, along with anything that makes a crinkling sounds, and whatever the current knitting project I’m working on is. Oh, and the needles that project is on. In the past two days, she’s destroyed two different sets of needles, a knitted Christmas present for someone who reads this blog, the rest of the unused yarn for said present, an entire roll of toilet paper, several dozen tissues, random garbage, oh, and she’s put holes in at least 3 different socks. Hense why none of you have been invited over recently. (and I’ve been killer busy)
On the scouting side of things, we only have a couple more meetings before Christmas. The first we’re playing mini golf because the church *has* to set up their advent decorations two weeks into it, on a Monday night, at 7pm. Is it just me, or is that just a little rude to have to ask us to move our meeting? Postponing their decorating an hour and a half wouldn’t have hurt. The second is a Christmas party. It’ll be fun, but I’m in charge of printing off photos for a craft that night… and while they’ll pay for the paper, let’s face it, 15 photos later and it’s the ink I’m worried about. Plus, the whole borrow a small photo printer idea has fallen through, because I’m not paying for ink and I don’t think the person I’m borrowing from should have to pay either… so I’m going to see what they say on Monday on whether someone else is willing to bring a printer.
Been having huge issues with Canada Post. My first package went missing — it was “forwarded to my new address” um… k. After many hours (okay, it was probably an hour and a half with 3 phone calls combined) to eventually find it, sitting in a post office across town. The second package, well, the guy never buzzed up. I know because my caller id would’ve displayed it. And, since he doesn’t come with the regular post lady, he can’t put the delivery card notice in my box until the next day. So I’m not going to get my package until tomorrow. I guess it’s a good thing that Michelle is sick and had to cancel this weekend since her birthday present is in that package. So now I’m wondering if the guy who delivers the packages either a) doesn’t know how to use the speakerbox which leads to b) can’t read english to read the instructions on how to buzz me or, c) just can’t be bothered with the 2 minutes he’d lose by bringing it to my door. I’m going to call and complain, because this is ridiculous. It’s a good thing that I have a car too, because my pick up spot is a good 1/2 hour walk away, complete with huge hill inbetween.
Other than those packages, I haven’t started my Christmas shopping. I did start my Christmas knitting, but Pepper’s destroyed the one, and the second isn’t long enough yet, and quite frankly, I got bored with it. The one Pepper destoyed will get done, but the second? Maybe… maybe not. We’ll see. Going to start Christmas shopping tomorrow. (Since shopping online now makes me NOT want to deal with Canada Post, and I can’t afford the $15 or so to use the UPS priority) Sears is having a huge sale, starting at 7am, so Pepper and I are getting up at 6, I’m taking her out, getting me ready, and then taking her out again. I might be able to skip the first out if I’m extra quiet, but it’s unlikely. After Sears, I’m hitting the rest of the mall, hopefully getting the big ones out of the way, and then I’m just left with stocking stuffers. And worse case with those is, I totally forget, and end up pulling a Jeffrey and stop at a gas station along the way and buy everyone lottery tickets.
I think that’s the most news everyone’s getting tonight. Too much knitting to do, not enough needles & yarn, not to mention time.
