I Get The Keys Today!!!
It’s today it’s today it’s today!!!!! Will probably post again once I have said keys. In the meantime…
Hardly slept last night, though that was probably more to do with the 6 hour nap I had after camp than the excitement. She said I’d likely get the keys in the morning, but we’re all pretty skeptical about that… especially since it’s now 20 after 11. Hm, just had a weird remembering-german-class moment with that time… I guess my brain’s trying to tell me to say it’s 10 before halfway to noon?
Speaking of German… one of the scouters out at the camp on the weekend were saying they were on “German time” in regards to their food. So I wondered if that meant she had her main meal at lunch. I asked and… No. Then I asked if that meant she just time shifts her meals 5 hours forward… and No. Turns out it has nothing to do with time, but something about a gluten-free diet and nothing to do with time at all. So then I wondered, “You eat gluten-free Germans at the same time every day and labelled said time?” apparently that’s also a no, though there were quite a few people who agreed with me on the above point and that if she was going to complain about the camp food (which was actually really good) she might as well have brought along her own German.
My Building Manager says the Property Manager is coming “sometime this week” to look at the apartment and what needs to be done. Um, thanks for the notice? Of course you said the same about two weeks ago. So she’s coming, and all I can wonder is, how do you expect me to keep the house clean AND pack? Two weeks to do and I’m not even halfway. Speaking of which, why aren’t I packing now? Oh yeah, because the puppy’s snuggled in and cozy. It really is impossible to keep the house clean and pack. Of course, that’s going to get better now that I’m packing up the majority of the dishes, packing clothes I won’t need in the next two weeks and so on and so forth… so there won’t be laundry on the floor in a pile between boxes and there won’t be many dishes to wash every day. It’s still going to suck. Anything in the way could be considered a “fire hazard” and I could be dinged, if my fridge isn’t clean, the stove has something on the burners, if she checks any of the doors that don’t close right that we didn’t think to check when I moved in and should’ve since it turns out that most of them don’t close right still…
anyways, really should pack now. Cozy Pepper or no.
so exciting that you have your keys!!
could you start moving the fire-hazard boxes to the new place, and stash them in the basement? you’d still have all of the closet boxes and furniture for your movers, but you wouldn’t have to worry so much about getting dinged for a fire hazard!
